Course Objectives
At the completion of the seminar, the participant will be able to:
- Accurately state the general concepts of myofascial release, joint mobilizations and muscle energy techniques
- Accurately describe normal and abnormal spine joint mechanics
- Accurately state 2 characteristics of type 1 and type 2 dysfunctions
- Correctly demonstrate 6 self-joint mobilization techniques to the areas covered in the manual
- Correctly demonstrate 6 self-myofascial release techniques (with and without instruments) to the areas covered in the manual
Course Instructors
Patrick Hoban
PT, MS, ATC, FF-CIMT
Patrick has been a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer since 1994. He graduated from Grand Valley State University and started Great Lakes Seminars in 1996. He is the co-owner and Clinical Director for Great Lakes Seminars and is also the president of Probility Physical Therapy. Probility is a company which has 13 clinics in the Southeast, MI area. He has created the manual therapy courses for Great Lakes Seminars and has trained the instructors to ensure high quality courses and effective, consistent delivery. He has also taught manual therapy courses around the country for 20 years, has taught in PT and PTA programs since 1994, was the head athletic trainer at a high school for 5 years and he has performed both independent medical exams and peer reviews for Physical Therapy. He has an eclectic background in biomechanics, anatomy, and manual therapy.
